Eligibility Criteria for University of Calgary Scholarships

  • Applicants must be international students.
  • Not available for Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
  • Applicants are enrolled in the upcoming fall term in first-year undergraduate studies.
  • Must meet the English Language Proficiency requirement of the university.

Renewal Conditions:

  • For the renewal of the award, applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.60 across a minimum of 24 units during the previous fall and winter terms.
  • Continue to pay international tuition fees.

Selection Criteria:

  • Mostly based on academic merit, while extracurricular accomplishments are also taken into account.
  • If you meet the renewal criteria, then this scholarship will offer up to CAD 80,000 over four years.

Prestige Awards (including International Entrance Scholarship):

  • Application opens October 1
  • Application closes December 1
  • Documentation due by December 15
  • Recipients notified in March/April

High School Awards & Bursaries:

  • Application deadline March 1
  • Documents by March 15, with notifications by the end of April

Application Process 

Applicants must apply for admission first to be considered for these scholarships (including the International Entrance Scholarship).

After being accepted, applicants have 24 to 48 hours to access and complete the Prestige Awards application through the myUCalgary Portal.
